At the end of August, our memories of the Gulf Coast’s white sands and wrought-iron porches of New Orleans were intact. Now, due to Hurricane Katrina, those images are replaced with the overwhelming pictures of destruction, desperation, and death. Here, in Atlanta, our lives move forward but for thousands of our fellow citizens, all they have left is the hope that someone cares. America has never forsaken people in distress. Now it is our neighbors who need a hand to help them up and a shoulder to lean upon.

At this time, students are collecting donations for the CHS Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund. The money collected will be used to ease the pain of lost dreams, lost homes and lost lives. Donations are being accepted in the front office. Below is a list of how CHS is working together on this school-wide community service project. We thank you for your kindness.
