The system governing the distribution of Parking Permits favors seniors. However, juniors with good attendance can also qualify for a parking permit. Students will be served using the following distribution system: Round 1: Seniors with zero absences A student's absence record will include ALL absences --medical, pre-approved, unexcused, legal, etc.--with two exceptions. Beginning Spring 2008 Parking: Any suspension (in-school or out-of-school) will count as an absence for parking permit eligibility rankings. Absences that occur due to religious holidays or school-related field trips will be automatically excluded from the attendance record of all students for parking permit eligibility rankings. During the second week of each semester, a brief period of time will
be designated for assistance to students who were not approved for a parking
permit during the normal application process. Hardship requests will be
accepted on those days. The Hardship Committee will review all requests,
and these permits will be distributed based upon the circumstances and
documentation presented in the student's hardship letter. Submission of
a hardship request does not guarantee a parking permit; however, a limited
number of parking spaces will be reserved for students whose special needs
are recognized by the Hardship Committee. Additional Rules: |
