The mission statement of the

All counselors at CHS are responsible for: new student enrollments/advising; scheduling students for appropriate courses; personal/social counseling; academic counseling; college/career counseling; small group counseling; classroom guidance activities; individual Junior Advisement meetings; participation in SST, 504, and IEP meetings; consultation with teachers, parents, and administrators; parent/teacher/student conferences; organization and administration of school-wide tests; interpretation of standardized test results; letters of recommendation for college applications/summer programs; tracking the graduation status of students; maintaining permanent records; professional development meetings/workshops; and the promotion of academic achievement for all students. Student referrals can also be made through the counselors to the school psychologist, school social worker, speech/language pathologist, and other private agencies.
