AMERICAN LEGION LADIES AUXILIARY POST 201 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

All College bound High School seniors are eligible to compete for these scholarships.

  The Auxiliary will determine the amount of each scholarship.

·        Application must be approved by the School Guidance Counselor or
other school assigned representative.

·        All applications must be returned No Later Than Friday, March 26,  
2012.

Georgia Military Scholarships

There are 42 full Georgia Military Scholarships for high school seniors at North Georgia .  They're worth $70,000 each.   Deadline for applying is March 10th.  Information and instructions here:  www.northgeorgia.edu/gmssteps

Georgia Military will continue to consider applications for admission to the North Georgia Corps of Cadets for Fall 2012 through July 1st.  Please let your seniors who applied for service academies and didn't get selected, or your seniors who express an interest in commissioning as Army lieutenants after college, know that they can still apply for admission to North Georgia now.  

Please let your sophomores and juniors who may be interested in a service academy, senior military college, or Army ROTC program in college, know about "National Leadership Challenge Weekend" at North Georgia April 13-15.  This is a good way to experience the Corps of Cadets first hand.  Go to:  www.northgeorgia.edu/nlcweekend

VISINE® STUDENTS WITH VISION™ Scholarship

The first annual VISINE® STUDENTS WITH VISION™ Scholarship Program

is offering one-time $5,000 scholarships to students who have demonstrated a clear vision or goal for their future. High school seniors and current college students with a minimum GPA of 2.8 may submit an online application beginning February 15, 2012. The deadline to apply is April 16, 2012.

 

VISINE® STUDENTS WITH VISION™ Scholarship Program recipients are selected based on academic achievement, school and community involvement, financial need and demonstrated vision or goal.

Atlanta Alumnae Panhellenic Association scholarship & information meeting

Atlanta Alumnae Panhellenic Association (AAPA) is an organization of women who have attended college and joined one of the 26 National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities.  Since 1927 we have supported local social service efforts, promoted sorority life in Georgia , and awarded scholarships to collegians, alumnae, and high school seniors from the Atlanta area.

 

Each year we award two $1,000 Scholarships to deserving senior women.  The application may be found on our website - www.atlantapanhellenic.org.

 

Additionally, each year we host an informational meeting for area high school senior women and their parents to introduce them to the benefits and advantages of sorority membership.

The Jack and Julie Allen Scholarship from Appalachian State University is for $2,500 per year for 4 years - nominee must:  have an application on file with the admissions office at Appalachian State; be an active participant in school and community activities; provide evidence of leadership potential, intelligence, exhibit purposeful ambition, and show compassion for others; and have a 3.0 high school GPA.  Interested students must see Ms. Blount in the Counseling Office by Friday, February 17th!  

 

The 2012 GBAA Scholarship application

The GBAA is committed to promoting business aviation in the State of Georgia , and also in assisting Georgia high school students with a passion for aviation, pursue their dreams for a career in aviation. 

 

Since 2004 the GBAA has awarded over $200,000 in training and cash scholarship awards to well deserving Georgia high school students and GBAA members.  We could not offer these scholarships without the generous donations from the GBAA members, their clientele, vendors and other sponsors who participate in the annual members meeting and Golf Tournament held each year in May.

Bruce Wood & Georgia Wills Memorial Scholarship Applications

The Education Committee at the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce is awarding two college scholarships to North Fulton high schools students.  The scholarship applications are attached, and the deadline for applying is March 5.  The winners will be announced at the Chamber's Eggs & Enterprise Breakfast on April 24, which begins at 7:30 am at the Country Club of the South in Johns Creek .  Please distribute this information to your graduating students. 

Bruce Wood Memorial Scholarship

·         Area of study must be in business

·         3 credit hours in Cooperative Business Education required by graduation

·         Minimum current core numeric average of 80 required

·         Must be attending a trade or technical school for enrollment the following academic year

·         $1,000 scholarship

 

George Wills Memorial Scholarship

·         Area of study must be in business

·         Minimum of 2.5 high school credits in business and/or is working a minimum of 15 hours per week 

·         Minimum current core numeric average of 80 required

·         Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5

·         Must be involved in student activities such as athletics, clubs, student government, etc

·         $1,000 scholarship

 

If a student isn't sure whether they qualify, please have them apply anyway.  We want to uphold the spirit of the scholarships, but don't want to exclude someone based on a minor technicality.

Ryan Boslet Scholarship

The Ryan Boslet Scholarship Fund

 

 

 

The Ryan Boslet Scholarship is being awarded to a class of 2012 Chattahoochee High School varsity letterman (male or female) who exemplifies outstanding character, high integrity and a strong sense of team spirit that were such positive attributes of Ryan Boslet.  The student athlete needs to excel academically in addition to demonstrating the "heart of a champion" characteristics in varsity athletic competition.

 

The Ryan Boslet Scholarship awarded for the 2012 winner will total $2000.

 

 

Criteria

 

  1. Varsity letterman (male or female)

 

  1. Cumulative numeric GPA of 80 or better

 

  1. Demonstrate championship characteristics (high level of integrity, strong leadership skills, "team-first" orientation, commitment, dependability)

 

Ryan Boslet Scholarship Procedures

 

  1. Complete the application form and return to Leigh Lynott in the Counseling Department by Friday, April, 20, 2012.

 

  1. The Ryan Boslet Scholarship Review Committee will review all submitted applications.

 

  1. Scholarship winner will be announced at Chattahoochee High School Commencement Ceremony.

 

  1. Scholarship award of $2000 will be sent directly to the scholarship winner's college or university.

This scholarship is a one year scholarship for $10,000, which will be paid in two installments over the course of the next academic year.  Students must have outstanding academic records as well as have a financial need for assistance.   We are accepting applicants now but these applications must be submitted by you or a representative of your school.  They cannot be received directly from the students.  You must submit the students name for consideration, along with your recommendation and the completed application and backup paperwork.  We hope to find the most deserving students in Metro Atlanta to interview for our finalist so if you know of a deserving student, please consider helping them complete this application.  We will interview the top 5 candidates based on their application, essay, need and your recommendation.
