Is your high school experience ready for more?

If you are looking for more challenge, class flexibility or just want to get a head start on you post-high school career, Dual Enrollment options might be a good fit. Dual enrollment is a process through which high school students who have applied and been accepted by a Georgia public/private university or technical college may take classes and earn high school and college credit at the same time.

Options may include Accel (Hope Scholarship), HOPE Grant, Early College, Move On When Ready, Gateway to College and Residential. In some cases, students can earn both a high school diploma and college credit at the same time and tuition for the classes may be provided through the Hope Scholarship/Grant or local school system funds.

Visit your Guidance & Counseling Office for More Information or Advisement

***Attention Juniors:  please consider applying for Joint Enrollment through GA Perimeter College for next year! You can earn high school credit and college credit at the same time, class sizes are smaller and you can receive more individualized attention.

You can check the status of your application online at www.gpc.edu/mystatus.

Your acceptance letter will be sent from the Admissions office on the Clarkston campus.

Before you can register for classes, you must complete an online orientation for Dual Enrollment students at www.gpc.edu/~dunje.

You will register for classes with the Dual Enrollment Coordinator.

What courses can I take?

Dual Enrollment students can take any college course; however, ACCEL funding for residents of Georgia will only pay tuition for courses in the five core areas of

Social Science, Science, English, Foreign Language, and Mathematics including Philosophy and Economics courses.

If you want to enroll in a math class above MATH 1111 (College Algebra), you will be required to take a placement test on one of the GPC campuses. AP scores can

also be used for math placement.

If you want to continue your foreign language study, placement is determined by the foreign language department.

As a Dual Enrollment student, you are eligible to take courses on any GPC campus.

In selected cases, Dual Enrollment students can take online courses as well. Online courses may require students to come to campus for tests.
