The Urban League of Greater Atlanta Young Professionals (ULGA-YP) are excited to
award 4 scholarships to identify and recognize African-American students in the
metropolitan Atlanta area. The scholarship is for students who exhibit academic
success and the potential to one day advance the mission of ULGA-YP.
Named to honor the accomplishments of the founding members of ULGA-YP, this
scholarship is awarded to 4 African-American high school seniors who will be attending
a college or university, and demonstrates outstanding academic achievement,
community service, and leadership. The award of $1000 is to be applied to textbooks,
supplies or other educational expenses. Special consideration will be given to potential
candidates who participate in ULGA-YP community service events.Eligibility:
High school seniors who will be seeking an undergraduate degree from an accredited
college or university in the fall of 2012. Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better at time of submission (This is based on a
4.0 scale. Students not on a 4.0 scale must have a B average). Applicants must
complete and turn in application, essay, 2 recommendations and transcripts by Friday,
May 18, 2012.
Deadline:
Applications must be postmarked no later than Friday, May 18, 2012. The awards will
be presented at the annual Dream Catchers Award reception to be held in August.

Atlanta Braves high school scholarship program (Deadline 4/21/2012)

The Atlanta Braves and Publix Super Markets will award six $2,000 scholarships to graduating Georgia high school seniors.

Scholarship recipients will be recognized during an on-field ceremony prior to an Atlanta Braves game at Turner Field.

Eligibility Requirements:
• Graduating high school senior in the state of Georgia
• Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.2
• Accepted and/or plan to attend an accredited university or college during the 2012 fall semester

All Applications Must Include:
• Personal Contact Information
• A scanned copy of current school transcript (upload as an attachment)
• A scanned letter of recommendation on letterhead from a teacher, counselor or principal (upload as an attachment)
• A list of all high school extracurricular activities and community service involvement
• An essay (500 words or less) describing how you have made a positive impact in your community

Application Instructions:
• All scholarship applications must be submitted using the online application form, and they must be filled out completely in order for the application to be considered.
• Incomplete submissions will not be considered.
• Completed scholarship applications must be submitted online by April 21, 2012.

U.S. Army - Pro Football Hall of Fame
Award for Excellence Program

Background:
Launched in January, The U.S. Army - Pro Football Hall of Fame - Award
for Excellence Program seeks to highlight the Nation's top sophomore and
junior high school athletes who exemplify similar strengths to Army
Strong Soldiers; and who not only excel athletically, but who also excel
academically and are active in their communities.

Award Nominations Criteria:
Students nominated for the U.S. Army - Pro Football Hall of Fame - Award
for Excellence must meet the following criteria in order to be
considered for selection. Nominations and judging criteria include:
*    Students must be in their sophomore or junior year of an
accredited high school during the 2011-2012 school year. High Schools
must either be in the United States or part of the DOD system of schools
in order for students to qualify.
*    Students must be a current, active member on a school athletic
team and have completed one season of play at minimum.
*    Students must hold a minimum 3.5 GPA on a non-weighted scale.
*    Students must be involved with and/or support the local
community:
o    Community service can involve volunteering and/or mentoring for
any non-school or work related organization.
*    Students must have three letters of recommendation:
o    One letter from a school representative includes: administrative
staff, teachers, counselors.
o    One letter from athletic team coach and/or assistant coach.
o    One letter from community service organization representative.
*    The Hall of Fame and Army stand for Excellence, in 250 words or
less define what Excellence means to you and what character qualities
can help you achieve it.

The judging panel comprised of Pro Football Hall of Fame executives and
Professional Football Hall of Fame athletes will review all submissions
and nominate 10 student Finalists as well as one winner.

Award Nominations Process:

All Nomination Information will need to be submitted via email to
USArmy@Profootballhof.com by Midnight EDT, on Tuesday, May 15,
2012, attachment file size total must be less than 2MB for submission.
You will receive an email confirmation when your email is delivered
successfully.
The judging panel will review all submissions and announce a list of 10
Award Finalists later in May 2012. Upon the finalist announcements,
Award for Excellence Program representatives will work to set-up a
formal finalist presentation with a Hall of Fame Player at each
nominated students' school during October 2012.
Each of the 10 nominated finalists will be provided with travel
arrangements (provided by the PFHOF) to the 2013 U.S. Army All-American
Bowl in San Antonio, Texas, to participate in game week activities
January 3 - 5, 2013. The winner of the U.S. Army - Pro Football Hall of
Fame - Award for Excellence will be announced during the U.S. Army
All-American Bowl's Awards Dinner on Friday, January 4, 2013.

MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP 2012 at Auburn University

Conducted by faculty and staff from Auburn University's Department
of Theatre, Musical Theatre Camp is an exciting opportunity for rising
9th through 12th grade students interested in the field of musical
theatre, which incorporates music, dance, movement, and acting.
The program is an innovative, intensive week-long residential workshop
designed for music, theatre, dance, and show choir students.
Students receive individual attention and guidance from Department
of Theatre faculty and staff. The camp will culminate with a musical
theatre revue presented on the final day of camp.
Participants will experience campus-life while residing in Auburn's
resident dormitories, eating at campus dining facilities, and enjoying
evening social and recreational activities. Camp participants will have
24/7 counselor supervision.
Cost is $615 per person and covers all instruction, housing, meals,
and recreational activities.

The Cal Summer Experience hosts (80) high school students and provides admissions sessions, lectures, a SAT prep workshop, a Personal Statement writing workshop, application filing assistance, transcript evaluations, and a campus tour! Pastoral Recommendation Scholarship Program

Rising Scholars USA students are eligible to receive up to $2,000 . To be eligible, applicants must:
1. Complete and submit the Rising Scholars USA admissions application 2. Submit their high school transcript demonstrating a GPA of 2.0 or higher
3. Submit two (2) recommendation letters, one of which must be from your Pastor, Priest, Imam, Rabbi, etc.
4. Complete and accept all available financial aid offered through the FAFSA process
5. Demonstrate financial need
6. Submit their official SAT or ACT scores *
7. Submit an essay or personal statement explaining why you want to obtain a University education

National Association of Black Journalists Scholarship Programs

NABJ awards deserving students interested in pursuing a career in journalism awards of more than $30,000 in NABJ scholarships. Each scholarship is worth up to $5,000. Scholarships are open to any foreign or American born students, currently attending an accredited four-year college/university in the U.S. or those who are candidates for graduate school.

To be considered and to receive a scholarship, all applicants must be a member of NABJ. The requirements make up one complete packet for this program. Students who want to apply for the program must submit four complete packets to the national office. This includes students looking for the broadest internship.

The G.I.R.L. - Gamers in Real Life - Game Design Competition Scholarship is open to undergraduate students who are enrolled in programs related to video games, including video game art, design, animation, production, programming or visual effects. You must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be a legal U.S. resident, and at least 18 years of age at the time of application. Also, you must continue to be enrolled during the entire 2012-2013 academic year and not be graduating before the end of the 2013 spring term to be eligible for this award.
